From the recording Ghost Ranch (3:29)

This song was written by Michael Hurwitz. Mike’s been kickin’ around the West for a long time, writing songs as he goes. He’s got some dandies. I like this one because I nose around old, abandoned ranches whenever I come across them, and I’ll bet you do, too. You always wonder what went on there. This song puts those feelings into words better than any other song or poem I know.

Gary McMahan: lead vocal and rhythm guitar. Butch Hause: bass and drums. Gordon Burt: fiddle. Tom Broderick: pedal steel. Mike Hurwitz: telecaster and high-string guitar.
